Why didn't Warren Miller narrating Children of Snow

So why dosn’t Warren Miller Narrate any of the movies any more.

While phasing out of his executive role, Miller still maintained his creative role as director and narrator for the films into the 1990s, but due to his age (now over 80 years old) and ailing health, Miller has distanced himself from production in recent years. The makers of recent films such as, Warren Miller’s Higher Ground (2005) and Warren Miller’s Off the Grid (2006), opted to use Miller’s narration from previous films rather than recording new narration.

Jonny Moseley, 33, is an Olympic gold medalist who narrates Children of Winter(2009); he also appears in segments on Colorado and Japan.

Tonight I have just been to see “Warren Miller’s Children Of Winter Never Grow Old” and loved it. This is the next era of Warren Miller movies as he isn’t involved in any part of them, I do miss his narration. Oh well, here’s the trailer. Enjoy.

Warren Miller – Children Of Winter

Boxing day movie – Marie Antoinette

Why did I go to see this movie? Well last year (10/2005) I went to the Palace of Versailles. This building is stunning so I thought it would be interesting to see what it may have looked like through the eyes of an American movie with all the costumes and opulence. It is slow and gets a bit artsy at the end. The story could have been more gritty, cutting from the French royalty to its people. Sound track was ho hum (in places just plain bad). Kirsten Dunst did very well but is just a little too cute. Five stars from me. * * * * * * * * * *
